Girona Cathedral from the Passeig de la Muralla – 10 Days Barcelona, Costa Brava and Madrid Itinerary
The medieval Roman walls in Girona are a wonderful (and free) way to see the old walled quarter of Girona, with panoramic views of the city and countryside and peeks down into the courtyards, backyards and parks next to the wall. This Passeig Arqueològic (Archaeological Walk), with several entrances and exits, takes you up and down stone stairs, ramparts and ancient towers. We started the walk around 7 in the evening and an hour later the blue skies we’d had at the start of the walk were being displaced by clouds threatening more of the rain that had been chasing us up the coast from Barcelona.
